This is a hybrid role with a minimum of 2 days per week in our Whitwell-on-the-Hill office. Due to the beautiful remote location, access to your own transport is essential. This is a full-time position, however work life balance is important to us and so we are open to discussion on flexible working patterns (minimum 4 days per week).

Salary: up to £31,000 + bonus         

About the role:

You will develop and deliver commercial reporting, including identifying the commercial drivers behind gross margin performance and how to increase that over time. The reports are used to build a picture of business performance in an understandable manner, and have a positive commercial impact. You will be the Business Intelligence Champion, the go to person to handle all inquiries from our stakeholders.

• Be the champion of the Inntravel Data Hub; a central repository of key business data.
• Ensure the Data Hub is refreshed regularly and reliably with the latest data, primarily via PowerBI, liaising with IT to achieve as necessary.
• Be part of the journey to extend the Data Hub to include additional data sets from reliable sources as necessary, e.g. Google Analytics, additional CRM data, etc.
• Use data within the Data Hub to deliver focused reporting to stakeholders at all levels of the business.
• Continuously review and revise such reporting to ensure it is accurate and helping drive the correct decision making.
• Be involved in the upgrading of the data analytical tools.
• Ad-hoc analysis and reporting to support the businesses with strategic goals.
• Provide reports and analysis for weekly meetings.
• Support BI where necessary, to work towards consistency of data and automation of processes.
• Tell stories with data.
• Deep dive into data that is available to aid margin-led commercial decision making, e.g. comparing holidays types/destinations/customer demographics/customer source etc.
• Present analysis in a manner that is understood by all relevant stakeholders and focuses on the business benefit.
• Understanding of different trading scenarios – by changing the bookings curves what impact it has on the margins.
• Assist with strategic planning and input into budgets and long range plans.
• Assist with target-setting for all areas of the business based on the agreed strategic plans, budgets and reforecasting.
• Gather, analyse, and compile data needed to identify trends and patterns, then make recommendations for business actions.
• Understanding of other stakeholders and department's needs and where we can help reduce workload and increase automation.

• Competent in PowerBI.
• Ability to prepare dashboards in Excel.
• Ability to work with different teams with excellent communications skills.
• Competent using Excel.
• Accuracy and attention to detail.
• Numerate and analytical with an ability to understand data.
• Experience in an analytical role.
• Ideally worked in a team with considerable interaction with actual financial performance metrics.
• History of presenting commercially-focused data and breaking-down complex analysis into logic steps.
• Driven by improving overall business performance and profitability.
• Experience of working in an industry with a variety of commercial drivers (e.g. travel) would be a significant advantage.
• Understanding of travel destinations, markets and products is desirable.
